Szczecin is situated near the border between Poland and Germany and the distance to Berlin is only about 130 km. Though there is a local airport at Goleniów (36 km away from Szczecin) Szczecin is also very easily reachable from Berlin airports (Tegel, Schoenefeld).

A shuttle bus is operating in between the airport in Goleniów and the city centre (Polish Airlines “LOT” Office at al. Wyzwolenia 17). Just approach a bus and buy a ticket on board. An airport is pretty small so that you cannot really miss the bus operated by “LOT”.

There are shuttle buses operating on the way between Berlin airports and the city centre of Szczecin. There are about 12 buses a day which means that there is practically a bus every hour. You may easily purchase tickets online or, if knowing the timetable, you may approach a driver and purchase a ticket on the bus. The buses start from the places which are described on the webpage of a shuttle buses company (see the above mentioned webpage). The buses stop at the place called “Szczecin PKP” which means the main railway station in Szczecin (Szczecin Główny). From the station you may pick up a taxi (the cost should not exceed 10 PLN) or just walk to a hotel since most of the hotels we recommend (including the conference site) are in the neighborhood of the main railway station.

The most efficient intercity connections are available with online ticket purchase.

Apart from that there are also some good train connections between Berlin Hbf and Szczecin Główny stations.

The Berlin Hbf (Hauptbahnhof) station is very easily reachable from the Tegel Airport by TXL JetExpressBus.

The Berlin Hbf (Hauptbahnhof) station is also good connected with the Schoenefeld Airport by S9 S-Bahn . The S-Bahn station is situated at walking distance from the airport terminal (about 400 m). The S9 trains run at about 30 minutes intervals.
