Expressions of interest from Ph.D. candidates
The Szczecin Cosmology Group at the Institute of Physics of the University of Szczecin (http://cosmo.usz.edu.pl) is seeking highly motivated candidates in pursuing a PhD in cosmology within our group.
Some of the research topics studied in our group are:
- astrophysical tests of dark matter and modified gravity theories;
- cosmological tests of dark energy in general relativity and beyond;
- cosmological perturbations in general relativity and beyond;
- correspondence between gravity and thermodynamics: black holes and cosmological applications;
- phenomenology of quantum gravity and cosmology;

Preference will be given to candidates with a strongly declared willingness to learn and work on data analysis and with numerical and computational skills.
The deadline for applications is 30th March 2025.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews on 9th – 11st April 2025.
The candidate(s) who will get support from our group, will then have to apply to the Doctoral School of the University of Szczecin, following the formal admission procedure (more information in English at the official webpage of the school: https://szkoladoktorska.usz.edu.pl/en/recruitment-schedule-2/ ).
Final results on admission is expected no later than July 2025.
The studies will begin on 1st October 2025 and last for 4 years following schedules and rules of the Doctoral School. The gross monthly salary will amount to 3466,90 PLN (~3076,53 PLN net) for the first two years and then, after a positive mid-term evaluation, to 5340,90 PLN (~4739,51 PLN net) for the last two years.

1) CV, including a cover letter (max. 1 page) and a list of publications (if any);
2) a brief statement of research interests (max. 2 pages);
3) copy of the M.Sc. Thesis;
4) copy of the M.Sc. graduate studies diploma;
6) min. 1 reference letter.
